Power Shifts

As power shifts among Rebels, Aristide and even within Aristide's supporters the victims of political violence are showing up daily. Many show up each morning, hands bound behind their backs and mouths gagged. Others make it to places like the Hospital General in downtown Port au Prince.

Port au Prince Sealed Shut

Businesses have closed, the airport has shut down and the only signs of life on the streets are bands of Aristide supporters setting up barricades and burning tires. Port au Prince is tense.

Fat Tuesday

Though rumors spoke otherwise this year's Carnival ended without incident. Guy Philiipe had promised to march on the capital by the end of festivities, but remained in Cap Haitian.
